Research on Full Spectrum CBD

Full Spectrum CBD refers to a type of CBD oil that contains a wide range of cannabinoids, including THC (tetrahydrocannabinol), as well as other beneficial plant compounds such as terpenes and flavonoids. This is in contrast to CBD isolate, which is a pure form of CBD that contains only the cannabinoid CBD.

According to a 2015 study published in the journal Pharmacology & Pharmacy, full spectrum CBD may be more effective than CBD isolate due to what is known as the "entourage effect." This effect occurs when multiple compounds in the cannabis plant work together to produce a synergistic effect that enhances the overall therapeutic potential of the plant. In other words, the combination of cannabinoids, terpenes, and other plant compounds in full spectrum CBD oil may work together to provide more significant benefits than CBD isolate alone.

Full spectrum CBD has been shown to be effective in treating a range of conditions, including chronic pain, anxiety, depression, and epilepsy. A 2018 review of studies published in the journal Molecules found that full spectrum CBD had significant anti-inflammatory, analgesic, and neuroprotective effects, among other therapeutic benefits.

It is important to note, however, that full spectrum CBD may contain trace amounts of THC, which is the compound that causes a "high" associated with cannabis use. While the amount of THC in full spectrum CBD oil is generally less than 0.3%, it is still possible to fail a drug test when using these products. Overall, full spectrum CBD oil may provide more significant therapeutic benefits than CBD isolate due to the entourage effect.
